Our School Council
The School Council for 2009-10 had its first meeting on Wednesday 23 September 2009. Each Class Council in Key Stage 2 elected a Chairperson and Secretary, who now represent that class on the School Council. The first task of the School Council was to elect its Executive Committee: Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary & Treasurer.
Two Key Stage 1 pupils will attend meetings in order to learn about our School Council and report back to their classes.
The School Council meets every 2-3 weeks. These take place during lunchtimes at 12.45-13.30. At our new school we have excellent community rooms, which we can book for our meetings.

Our School Council has four Working Groups:

Behaviour: Monitoring aspects of behaviour in & out of school, including class rules. The group will be putting forward ideas for a Charter of Behaviour for the school. A group of pupils, who were in the 2008-9 School Council, is helping to prepare a new Anti-Bullying Policy for the school.
Finance: Raising funds for School Council activities.
Communications: Ensuring that everyone in school and the local community knows about our School Council. This includes maintaining webpages, updating notice boards and collecting pupils' comments from a Suggestions & Concerns box.
During June a new group was set up to look after the the environment in & around our new school. This is The Tidy Team & their first task has been to work on a small garden area used by New Beginnings Neighbourhood Nursery.
